"Looking at the world through MY glasses"
Religious and Cultural Challenges
A discussion about understanding our own biases and learn to value cultural differences.
"Never thought that age could happen to me"
Generational Differences
A discussion about how the generations in your workforce differ in needs and expectations.
"Now, who wears the pants?"
Women in the Workplace
A discussion about women as leaders in today's workplace and the challenges you've faced and share ideas that have made you successful. Women and men welcome!
"Caught in the middle?"
The Sandwich Generation
Perhaps you have employees that are family caregivers to a wide-spread of generations. Perhaps you’ve been there yourself. Being a parent, spouse or partner, grandparent, son or daughter, or other family member, all at the same time can be consuming(pun intended)-and still there needs to be time for work? Maybe even personal time to refuel, so we can keep on giving?
How can we as HRM professionals ease the stress of our employees being caught in the “Sandwich Generation?” Bring your suggestions, experiences, ideas - personal or professional - to share and create a dialog of perspectives we can all use as condiments!
"A mind is a terrible thing to waste "
Intellectual Disabilities
A discussion of the social and economic benefits of hiring people with intellectual disabilities, and the types of work where they can be most successful.
"The Family Feud"
Family Balance vs. Single Employees
This session will examine the tension that may arise when single/childless employees begin to feel that they are assuming a larger burden of work to accommodate other employees with children, and potential ways of dealing with the tension.
Federal regulations and employer policies, in an effort to help maintain the work/family balance, have given increasing amounts of leave for employees to care for their children or participate in their children's' daily activities. The question is who continues to work while mom or dad take off time to be with their kids?
"Benefits that are beneFIT(T)ING "
Benefit Challenges of the Great Recession
What are companies doing to reduce their costs of benefits and still keep valuable employees. What are the alternatives to the benefits we offer now?
What are the choices in benefits? These are the questions to be discussed by this small group.
