Cynthia D. Adams, CEBS, MSHRM, SPHR

 

Cynthia Adams is the founding partner of Integrated Benefit Services, Inc. and has over twenty years of experience in accounting, finance, benefits and human resources.

She has acted as a consultant for several public and private sector clients, helping to establish hiring practices; providing benefit and health plan analysis, development and implementation; conducting recruitments; reviewing compensation models; revising benefit and health plans to ensure compliance; and administering health and welfare plans including FSA, HRA, HSA, and COBRA. She has helped new companies and non-profits with the set-up of human resources departments, evaluation and implementation of benefit and compensation programs and the set-up of accounting, financial and administrative procedures, policies and systems.


Ms. Adams has consulted to government agencies completing projects that included organizational development, recruitment and retention studies, total rewards studies, retirement plan analysis, classification and compensation studies, human resource department audits, and policy and procedure review and implementation. She also has held consulting contracts with several labor organizations, managing their employee relations, labor negotiations and their employer-funded trust funds which provided an array of mandatory benefits to employees covered by the collective bargaining agreement.


She is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP), a member of the Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA), a member of the Southern Nevada Human Resources Association (SNRHA) and the National Human Resources Association (NHRA). Ms. Adams also belongs to the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIBP) and the National Bookkeepers Association (NBA). She holds certifications in the administration of FSA plans, COBRA, HRA/HSA plans and compensation programs and is a Certified Retirement and Group Benefit Plan Specialist.


Ms. Adams is a former Councilmember and Mayor for the City of Aliso Viejo, California where she served on several regional boards and agencies. This service also included a seat on the Employee Relations Committee for the state arm of the California League of Cities.


Ms. Adams holds a Bachelors Degree from California State University, Long Beach in Dietetics and Food Administration. She received her Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation in August 2000. She completed her Masters Degree in Human Resources Management (MSHRM) from Boston University in July 2007 and she received her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification (SPHR) in December of 2008.

 

 

Jennifer Martinez

Jennifer Martinez joined Konami Gaming, Inc. in October 2006 to lead the Human Resources Department. In her current role, she serves on the Executive Management Board and is responsible for strategic and operational human resources management: including organizational structure and design, staffing and workforce planning; performance management; training and employee development; HR systems; compensation and benefits management; and human capital planning. Since joining Konami, Martinez has focused on establishing a comprehensive new employee on-boarding program, a performance management system, a self-service HR System and an internal communication program.

 

Martinez worked at Aristocrat from 2000 to 2006 as the Vice President of Human Resources, where she had responsibility for staffing and talent management; expatriate management; health and safety; HRIS, compensation and benefits; and training and organizational development. She directed the relocation of Aristocrat’s America’s corporate headquarters from Reno to Las Vegas and established a state of-the-art Research and Development facility in Tucson, Arizona. Martinez was instrumental in managing the integration of Casino Data Systems and Aristocrat Technologies, Inc. during the merger in 2001. Throughout her tenure, Martinez focused on recruiting high-quality candidates while developing retention programs including a total rewards strategy and leadership development initiatives.

 

Prior to that, Martinez held various management positions in Hotel Operations and Human Resources Management for Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. from 1990-1999. While working at Harrah’s, she started her career in hotel operations. It was at Harrah’s where she was provided the opportunity and career path into Human Resources Management. Throughout her tenure, Martinez worked in all of their major divisions of the Harrah’s Entertainment organization including riverboat and Native American gaming properties performing pre and post opening Human Resources operations.

 

Martinez has a strong background in developing culture, organizational training and development, talent management, and internal communications. She is highly experienced in developing and implementing strategic HR plans and change management programs aligned to corporate objectives.

 

Martinez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and is committed to continuous educational courses to keep abreast of best practices in her field. Martinez has served the last two years on the Southern Nevada Human Resources Association Board as a key member of the Public Relations and Community Relations committee.

 

 

Mary Beth

Mary Beth’s career spans twenty years in the human resources field working for Fortune 500 companies while developing human resource departments for smaller, entrepreneurial ventures.

 

She works in the areas of insurance brokering in life, health, property and casualty insurance, recruiting and staffing, training, compensation, benefits design and administration, policy and procedure development, mergers and acquisitions, employee and labor relations. She is experienced in various industries including gaming, restaurant, telecommunications, broadcasting, and non-profit organizations.

 

She created the first Women Mean Business Expo which allowed women – owned businesses to showcase products and services to the Las Vegas business community. She serves in a voluntary capacity for the governor appointed committees of the Business Development Advisory Council and the Regional Business Development Advisory Council in Nevada. Mary Beth adjuncts at UNLV, University of Phoenix and Regis University and previously taught at the University of Southern Nevada, She served in a voluntary role as President of the Southern Nevada Human Resource Association. In 2007, she was awarded the Woman In Business Champion award by the United States Small Business Administration. She currently serves on the Legislative Committee for the Henderson Chamber of Commerce.

 

Mary Beth holds a juris doctorate degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law, a master's degree in Human Resource Management and a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Administration. Her credentials include the Senior Human Resource Professional (SPHR-CA) designation from the Society for Human Resource Management. She is a contributing writer to Gaming & Leisure Magazine and has authored several articles on human resource topics. She is frequently quoted as a subject matter expert in business publications. A regular speaker at international conferences; and a member of  International Speakers Network, Mary Beth has addressed audiences on various HR topics.
