President’s Message
Welcome to the SNHRA website. SNHRA is a SHRM affiliated Chapter with professional and business partner memberships encompassing the greater Las Vegas Valley Region of Southern Nevada. For over 30 years, we have been committed to serving the Human Resource profession and empowering the advancement of its members throughout the region and statewide.
We offer a variety of opportunities for the HR community including Breakfast and Lunch Program Meetings, Evening Networking Events, Seminars, HR201 BootCamp, Legislative Updates, Certification Study Groups, Best Places to Work in Southern Nevada, Diversity OYA Awards, Vendor Fairs and Volunteer opportunities with plans to offer Focus Group participation that may center on the needs of specific disciplines, strategies, or occupational levels within the HR profession. SPHR/PHR Certification credits form HRCI may be earned at many or our presentations. We work closely with the SHRM Nevada State Council and our Northern Nevada chapter counterpart NNHRA to provide annual Conferences whose subject matter stems from Legislative to Workforce Readiness. In addition, Las Vegas has been the very successful home to the annual SHRM Conference for many years at the Las Vegas Convention Center, most recently in June 2011 with confirmed plans to return in June 2015.
Your SNHRA Board of Directors for 2012-2013 are setting forth plans to deliver the member benefits and resources that will keep our association relevant and valuable well into the future. In addition we have been partnering with other associations such as ASTD, SNCBA, AARP, valley wide Chambers of Commerce and Businesses that provide resources to our HR community such as job boards and benefit options as well as employment law briefing panel discussions and other professional development opportunities at discounted rates.
